About Williamson's Paint Center
Williamson's Paint Center has served Spartanburg County and surrounding communities since 1949 -- that was the year that Joe Williamson opened his first store in Spartanburg. That was the store on South Pine Street, which initially offered hardware and storefront glass installations. Joe had worked in sales for one of the major paint manufacturers before the war, and he clearly saw the local need for a retail store of this type. By the late 1960's the focus had become paint and wall coverings as the local market changed.
The Williamson's opened the Landrum store in 1985 to meet the demand of area customers who were already shopping at the Spartanburg store. (In 1986 the Spartanburg store was sold to the Gilman Paint Company of Chattanooga, TN, who continued to operate that store until the late 1990's, when they shifted their focus to industrial paint sales and consolidated with their Charlotte location.)
Joe's son Tom returned to manage the Landrum store in 1992. Tom grew up working in the Spartanburg paint business and has years of experience in the custom color matching of paints and wood stains, as well as specialized training on the technical aspects of industrial and residential paints and coatings.
Now in our 64th year in business , our number one goal is still to serve our customers well. We offer a full line of paints, stains, and supplies, as well as wallcoverings and custom blinds and window treatments.
